6 New Ways to Change Your Bad Holiday Habits
Do you throw caution to the wind each holiday season and then make resolutions to diet those extra pounds away come Jan. 1? Change your attitude this year and break the cycle so you can ease into the new year! It's the same story for a lot of people every year — they work their butts off to look great for the holidays, then they throw all of their progress away by indulging in every craving throughout the season. The best way to approach this time of year is to arm yourself with a plan!

Does Exercise Make You Eat More - JIllian Michaels

Feeling ravenous after your last workout session? That hunger could actually be in your head. Find out if killing it in the gym is leading you to consume more calories. The truth lies in the science.

The Truth:Studies have shown that exercise actuallysuppressesfood intake.
After a long, hard workout, are you one of those gym rats who immediately grabs a meal or gulps down a sugary, colorful sports drink to “re-fuel”? The truth is, this behavior stems more from habit than from actual, legitimate hunger.

Finding the Right Balance of Cardio & Weight Training

I love passing on great articles & this one is worth passing on. It busts the myth that cardio is best way to loose weight....Thanks Jillian Michaels

Q:Why does my online workout program consist of just one day of pure cardio and four days of weight training? Although I love weight training, I've always thought it's the cardio that really helps a woman like me lose the weight. Why so little pure cardio?
A:Okay — I love dispelling this myth. Resistance training when done in circuits with cardio intervals is the best way to lose weight for the following reasons:

Q:What is your opinion on "cheat days"? My friend's trainer says it's okay to have one cheat day during the week (as long as you remain on track the rest of the time). But I've been struggling with my weight for years now, and I'm wondering if it's because of my one day of food sin every week. Am I correct?
A:Great question. I am actually not a big believer in the "cheat day," the reason being that psychologically, it messes with my head when I feel that I've binged.

Want to burn the MOST calories possible every time you work out?

Want to burn the most calories possible every time you work out?
Jillian Michaels breaks down a three-pronged plan to ultimate fitness.
We’re all crunched for time, so squeezing in a daily workout — even a quick one — can be a real challenge. That’s why everyone wants to get the biggest bang — and burn the most calories — out of each workout. I get it. But a quickie is NOT going to cut it. Sure, there are some studies that’ll tell you that working out for ten minutes in the morning, ten minutes at lunch, and ten minutes at night is just as good as working out for a solid 30 minutes, but that’s crap.

25 Things That Are Keeping You Overweight

These are things you probably know in the back of your head, but might've forgotten.( Always good to refresh & do a self check.

1. You overeat healthy food.
Nuts, avocados, whole wheat pasta, olive oil, and dark chocolate are all natural and healthy, but they aren't void of calories. You still need to watch how much you eat of the good stuff. For example, avocado offers a ton of health benefits, but an entire fruit is over 200 calories.
2. You Don't Eat Breakfast

You've all probably heard or read about the importance of setting goals. How do you get somewhere if you don't have a goal in mind. Whether it's running a 5k, 1/2 marathon or doing 10 pushups or 1 pull up, getting down on the floor to play with your grandkids (& getting back up) you need a plan to achieve that goal.

UsingSMARTgoals can help you reach that end goal.

Goals should be:
Specific- Clear & unambiguous, stating specifically what should be accomplished.
Measurable- Examples of measurable goals include performing a given stregnth-training workout 2x a week or losing 5 lbs.
